Bedtime blues....

ARGH!  Why is it that when I tell my kids "it is bed time", that they seem to have more questions and just pain disobedient?  They keep getting out of bed.

Seriously How many times does one child have to use the bathroom before they fall asleep?  Let me count...  Rhett, Rhett again, Nikole, Gavin, Gavin again, Nikole again, Rhett again, and again.  Ok let me stop counting it is making my brain hurt.
Oh now then after they are finished using the bathroom then they get up to ask questions.  I have made it a rule that if they get up to ask a question it had better be a really really good question or I am not answering it until the next day.  Some of the questions that have been asked are: "How do I fall asleep?", "Can I play games tomorrow?", "What do I wear tomorrow if I forgot to do my laundry?", "Can I have breakfast at home tomorrow?", "What is this word?", "What does this mean?", "Can we go see Sara?", "Can we go visit Rosa?", "What are we doing tomorrow?", "How do you fall asleep?", and so many more that I cannot seem to remember since they have asked me so many questions.

Most of their questions go unanswered, but still Nikole, Rhett and sometimes Gavin are awake until almost 10:00pm every night.  I am getting so tired of putting them to bed to the point I just want to scream!

How do you get your kids to go to bed at a decent time and get them to stay in bed?  Besides taping them down, tying them down, drugging them, and many other unethical things.

I have tried rewards, consequences, and everything that my mind can come up with and that is why I am asking for help from you all.  Please give me any ideas that you have to help me with this problem that I have.

day 27- Why are you doing this 30 day challenge

Well I thought it would be a good idea.  LOL!  Me and my mind huh?

One of my cousins that is an amazing mom was doing it and I thought heck I think I can do that too.

ROTFL!!!!
Yeah right!!  I made a mess of it didn't I? :)  Oh well, it is almost over which I guess is a good thing.

I hope that it hasn't been hard on you as a reader. LOL!!

day 26- What do you think about your friends

Honestly?!?

Well I think that they are....  THE BEST EVER!!!!

I had you didn't I? :)  My friends are super supportive and they are such great support for me and my family.  I know I would have it a lot harder if I didn't have them in my life.

I feel bad for those that I have been friends with but have decided not to be my friend any more.  Since I think often of all my friends even if they don't know it.

I thank the Lord daily for the friends that he has sent my way.

Thank you friends for being part of my life!!!

What's up?

Well as I have not been the greatest blogger since I was getting up really early and needing to sleep earlier it is now time to play catch up.

Rhett went in for his follow-up with Dr. Uchida who is the pulmonary doctor.  We had to have the PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) to see what has happened and to help determine if he is going to have surgery this spring.  Well the test did say that it had improved just slightly.  The doctor thinks that if they don't do the surgery then it will drop.  Meaning by doing the surgeries we are maintaining the currant area for his Pulmonary Function.  With all than being said I did ask him if he would do it if they were going to be as aggressive as they were the last surgery.  He said that would be something that only we could decide.

Talked it over with my husband letting him know what the doctor had told me about the PFT results and what he would do.  He thinks we should go ahead and do the surgery this spring but make sure that the doctor know that he cannot be super aggressive like he was last time.  That was my two cents about the being aggressive.  I refuse to have Rhett go through that again.  So after we had come to this conclusion I talked with Rhett about it.  I told him that the doctors think that this will be a good thing for him.  He then in turn asked me if I thought it was a good thing and I told him that daddy thought it was a good thing.  Smart little boy didn't give up his question.  He then again asked me if I thought it was a good idea.  I told him that I wasn't sure, but I wanted to know what he wanted to do and if he thought it is a good idea.

He asked me if they were going to bruise him like last time.  I told him no.  Than I told him that we are going to tell the doctor that this is not going to be this way and if they do make it like last time then he will never have to have a surgery again in him life.  Since I am not going to purposefully put my child through that over and over again.  He agreed to have the surgery reluctantly.  He doesn't want to have to go though the same thing that he did last time.  I wonder if he is more nervous about this coming surgery than he has been  for previous ones.  I don't blame him since they did that last time.

day 25- What I would find in your bag

I have only started carrying a bag, that is mine not the kids.  I never thought that I would actually have any such thing as a bag since I really never understood the point of a bag.  But I did break down and find me a bag.  Very small so everything has to be small and condense to fit in there.  It helps so I am not carrying a lot of stuff I don't need.

I actually went through my bag today!  LOL!  I wasn't sure that I would have this to blog about but heck here we go...

Calendar - Cannot leave home without it ever!
Notepad - Writing a list is very important.
Nail clippers - actually 3 since my kids and husband keep losing them in the house I figure I better stock up.
Contact solution - Good thing to have to make sure that my contacts are always clear.
Hand sanitizer - Never leave home without it.  You know how gross things can be and then you end up touching something that gross.  Makes me feel better having it on hand all the time.
Tithing slips and envelopes - Have to have them good way to make sure that it is paid in a timely manner.
Wallet - Meaning driver's license, cards, pictures of kids, money (not a lot since that could be bad if something happened to it).
Key to Oxygen - Something that needs to be on hand at all times.
Business Cards - Not a lot since that would take up a lot of room.
Some pens and one pencil - Pens for everything other than the calendar, that is what the pencil is for.  You never know when things are going to change.
Chap Stick - Motives!  It is the best one that I have ever found.
Lipstick - Again Motives, best one that I have found that works for me.
Eye drops - To help clear up my eyes if my contacts are already clean.
Feminine things - Not going there other than better safe than sorry.
Gum - It is a must. :)

Yep that is what I got. :)  Not a lot but just enough.  LOL!  It was a great way to clean it out and get rid of all the garbage that I have had to stash in there until I got to a garbage can.

What does the burgler say to the cop?

Well if you cannot figure it out by the title I will just tell you.  They found out who broke into my house!!  I know I could hardly believe that when the detective called me and told me that either.  I was just so excited to be able to get some answers as to.....

"WHY THE HECK WOULD YOU DO THAT STUPID?!?!?!?"

Just like that. :)  I know that is probably mean but heck I think it was mean for him to break into my house too.  They way that they found him was from the lovely DNA that he left behind in my closet.  I know gross but caught your BUTT!!!

Actually his butt is already in prison.  I know even better easier to track him down.

I would tell you who it was but I can't until later and then you can Google him. LOL!  I know that is what my husband did and found out that this man has an extensive drug history and prison history.  HELLO!!!  Why are they letting people like that out????

Found out this guy has been stealing since he was 12 years old and now he is in his 40's.  Pathetic!!  Seriously get a life!!!  He told the cop that he won't admit to breaking into my house and he won't deny it either.  He said that when he is high on drugs he can't remember what he is doing.  He is already going to be in prison for 10 years and I hope that him breaking into my house and leaving his DNA will keep him behind bars forever!  I mean what is he going to do when he gets out?  That is right go back to breaking in to people house, cars and anything else he can get his hands on to support his drug habit.  Lucky for me I have a great detective working with me and someone just waiting for the ok to prosecute this guy for breaking into my house.  I just wish that he had some idea where my stuff is and would tell the cop!  Seriously you ain't getting out buddy so give it up!!!!

I know this post is short but it is short and sweet.  I will have to blog about Rhett's latest development later since it is getting late and I have a very early morning.

day 24- A letter to your parents

Dear Mom and Dad,

There are so many things that I you both have done for me and I am truly grateful.  You have helped me through so many things and if I could ever be even a little bit like you guys that would be amazing!

When I was younger I didn’t think much of how much you both really did for us and mostly me.  You both are so amazing!!  You both had to deal with the bad attitude that I pulled.  I was not the easiest child and I know that now looking back.  I fought with my siblings, didn’t listen to my parents, and am not sure that I even did that well in school.  I tried and it wasn’t the lack of support you guys gave me it was all attitude and feeling like I wasn’t good enough for either of you.  As I look back I realize that it was in my head most of it.  I wasn’t not good enough for both of you.  It was hard to be young and trying to be like everyone else in my family.  I felt like I was the only one that different and that my siblings were so much better than me.  Neither of you never treated us different but I still felt is.  Maybe it was all the things that I had to do that the others didn’t have to do, for example the reading class.  I know that both of you were only looking out for my best interest but it took until I had kids of my own for me to realize it.

I am so sorry if I have caused either of you any pain.  I know now how much you both care for me.  You both have inspired me to be a better daughter, mother, sister, wife and friend.  You both do so much for the family.  You guys have set a great example for me and my siblings.  You both care for us all so much and you guys help us to care for others.  You both have shown us to be kind towards others and to help where we can.  You guys raised me to be my best and do my best in everything that I do and I am striving for that.

I am glad that you both are here still to enjoy being a grandmother and grandfather to my children.  You have both helped me in more ways than I can count with my children and I am seeing improvements with them from what I have learned from you guys and what I am trying to teach them.  I notice that I am trying to teach them the same things that you both have taught me.  I hope I am a good teacher like you guys were for me.  I just hope that my kids turn out better than me.  Thank you both for supporting me and helping with all the things that are crazy in my life. I am not trying to make your life any crazier than it already is, I hope you know that.

You both mean so much to me!  I know I would not have been this way without either of you in my life.

Love You Always!
Andrea

Long over due!

So sorry for keeping you all waiting but I have been tired.  LOL!!  I know many of you probably think that I run on no sleep... well most of the time you are right. :)  Anyways things have been a whirlwind around here.  I guess I should explain.

Friday the 18th of February was a great day I was out of the house at an job interview since there are no kids at home and I need to help pay off debt that I created.  knowing how long I have been looking I was praying that I would find something soon.  Well after that morning I went home to where my sister was watching my kids and got ready to get down and dirty doing chores, doing shopping, etc...  Then we were off her kids and my kids and us.  We had a blast doing things that if there was one person it would really suck.  LOL!  Anyways as we were shopping I got a call and was offered the job!!!  I know I was so happy I was crying.  (What a wuss.  I know that is what you are thinking.  LOL!)  We decided that I needed a few things and took the kids home and unloaded the car.  Wow that is when daddy pulled up and told me that he was done for the day and we asked him if he could watch most of the kids so we could do a little bit more.  Kid free in a clothes store is so nice!  Any way I started this new job on Monday the 21st.  It has been a interesting week seeing as I am making sure I have babysitters lined up willing and able to take my younger 2 boy for only a few hours a week.  This has been such a fun job and I love being at work and learning and helping people.

Monday daddy watched the kids and when I came home from work the house was still standing. :)  LOL!  It was a big mess but daddy had worked on it a little bit and the kids had each done a load of laundry too.  So I told the kids since they were all watching a moving and it was almost dinner time that who ever wanted to stay up an extra 30 minutes the living room, bedrooms, hall way and dining room had to be cleaned up and they only had until dinner do make it happen.  I have never seen kids move so fast!  LOL!!  My house was spotless in 15 minutes minus vacuuming since I was helping and making dinner.  As soon as it was done the kids all asked if they could stay up longer and I told than that daddy gets to look around and decide if they get to stay up.  He did and then told them that they can!  Oh excitement!!  We had dinner and then as soon as there time was up and they were all asleep I decided that I would like to see my laundry room floor again and start a load of what ever was laying on the floor in the laundry room.  Than I went to my bed to relax until I could move the laundry over.  As soon as the laundry finished I went to move it and notice that it was soaking wet still.  Hummm...  I talked with my husband and we found out that the washer wasn't spinning at all!  CRAP!!!!  I don't need a broken washer! :(  He told me that he would pull it apart the next day to see what was wrong with it.  So I dried a little bit of laundry at a time and had the dryer running  several times on every little bit that was in there.

Well Tuesday only one kids of mine had school and everyone else didn't, so I asked my sister if she could watch the other kids and make sure that Dylan got on and off the bus for me and like such a great sister she said yes.  It was a good day.  The only weird thing was that Gavin wasn't eating very much but he was still running around playing so I didn't think too much of it.  After work I rang all the clothes that were still in the washer out in the tub and then had my husband pull apart the washer and find out that the "gear box" was broken.  He told me that he was going to get a part for it.

Wednesday could had been better  It started at 3:50am as I awoke to high pitch screaming coming from Rhett and Gavin's room.  I run down there just to find out that Gavin was screaming because he was tangled in his blanket and he had to go potty as he is crying and trying to catch his breath.  So I take him to the bathroom and then he tells me that he has a huge headache.  I give him some medicine to help with that headache.  After that he tells me that he has had a bad dream which he really didn't want to tell me(I am sure that is where he got his headache from).  So I ask him if he wants to lay down on the couch since he was too scared to go to his own bed.  He said yes.  I told him the only way for the bad dream to go away is to tell me so I can chase it away for him.  He then told me as he starting crying again.  This is the story I got and understood.

"I dreamed that there were 3 ghosts in my closet and I was trying to catch them.  Each time I would catch one another one would come and knock me out."

Where does he get this?  Anyway I helped him on to the couch and he felt a little warm but I think anyone after all that would feel warm so I didn't worry about a blanket or anything.  I gave him a drink and turned on the light and the TV since he was clinging to me like Velcro.  After the lights and TV were on he climbed onto the couch and fell asleep within 5 minutes.  I went back to bed thankfully. :)  Then again was woken by Gavin asking for another drink at 5:00am.  I get him a drink and then he tells me that he needs a blanket to which I wonder why he feels so warm.  I didn't worry too much about it since heck it is 5:00am.  I did let him know that we were going to need to get up soon and get ready for the day.  He said ok as he was falling asleep again.  Manhe is wearing me and him out faster than running around.  So we both go back to sleep for a hour and than my alarm goes off it is now 6:00am.  Can we say zombie!  Oh yeah!  I get all the kids up get myself ready and then I wake Gavin who is not wanting to get up at all.  Here I am thinking it is because we have been up all night anyways.  So he is dropped off at school with Rhett and Nikole to have breakfast.  (The rest of this story is what I was told since I wasn't there.)  Gavin was eating breakfast with Rhett and Nikole when he threw up a little in his hands and sat there dazed and not doing too much until grandma came to help him.  He was taken to grandma's and grandpa's house at which point he rested all morning.  He was acting fine all except for eating and drinking which to that he did none.  But then was taken to school at lunch time where he didn't want to eat anything.  So he laid in the office until it was school time and the teacher went to get him but he was asleep.  So she left him there sleeping.  At about 1:30pm I get a call from the school saying that Gavin had a 102.6 temp and they are not sure what to do.

So knowing that I am new to my job I was a little nervous about telling my boss that I needed to go and take care of my little boy.  But it turns out that he was ok with it and told me not to worry about it.  I left and picked Gavin up at about 2:30pm, where he was still sleeping.  I took him home and he climb on the couch to watch TV but I told him that he could have a bubble bath so he was happy about that.  He told me that his head still hurt and so I gave him more medicine to help that and let him have a bath.  After that we showered him off since he was all soapy and cold from sitting in warm water. :)  He went to try to warm up and I told him the fastest way to warm up would be to put clothes on. LOL!  Well he started and got as far as a shirt and underwear and then fell asleep on his bed.As I picked up the kids from school Rhett showed me that he had won 1st place at the school science fair and was going to district level science fair.  He was really excited since he only got 2nd last year. :)  At dinner time he was still sleeping and so I had him take some Motrin and a little water and he then went right back to sleep.  The day ended with Dylan being dropped off at our house since I was home with a sick boy and than dinner for 3 kids and showers etc for 3 kids since Gavin decided to sleep all day and night.  Yeah we made it through that day.

Thursday was a whole other story...

My boss knew that I had to take the boys to some doctors appointments that afternoon.  What was unexpected was that at 5:00am Gavin woke up throwing up.  I heard him and got up to make sure he hadn't thrown up anywhere except in the toilet.  Which he hadn't thank goodness.  So I turn on a very dim light since that way it wouldn't hurt our eyes and I wait until he is finish to get him a drink and put him back in bed.  What I see was a surprise to both him and me.  He was throwing up blood!  Oh this isn't good!  He turns and looks at me after he had finished and asked me with tears in his eyes "Am I going to die?"  I give him a big hug and tel him no.  I gave him 1/2 cup water and put him to bed.  Again at 6:00zm my alarm is going off and as I am getting me and the kids ready for the day I am thinking that I really need to take him to the doctors.  So I decided to take him in and make sure all the kids get to the places that they need to be at.  So at 8:00am I call my work and tell them that I will be in as long as the doctor thinks that Gavin is ok enough to go to the sitters house.  Which he did!  Yeah!!  I was so happy. :)  Not strep and no fever.  He was just very dehydrated which I knew that since he had only 1 1/2 cups of fluid in 2 days, maybe more.  He said as long as he will drink there is no need for a hospital visit.  So he drank like crazy that morning since I told him he couldn't have anything to eat until he drank a lot.  So at lunch time he was starving!  He ate everything he had.  Than he went to school.

As soon as I dropped him off I headed to work and got there about 10:00am.  At 1:30pm I needed to leave to take the boys to the doctors since Rhett needed to have a PFT(Pulmonary Function Test) and than a follow up for having ear surgery and Dylan also needed to have a follow up from have ear surgery.  So I decide that I would get Gavin and Rhett from school.  Lucky they were in the office ready to go, since I got caught in traffic.  Than I race over to a totally different school and school district to get Dylan.  While I was picking up Dylan they wanted me to sign all these papers and stuff.  By then it was 2:30pm!!!!  Holy crap Rhett's PFT is at 2:35pm!!  Why can't I just sign these later!!!!!  Seriously! :(  Not a happy momma here.  We didn't even leave there until almost 2:45pm!  Now I was MAD!!!  Grrrrrrrrr!  I finally make it to the hospital and it is 2:55pm, yes I was rushing it but heck if you don't make it on time you have to come in a different time and with my job I was worried since this was my first week.  My life is not normally like this but there are some days when it is like this.  So because we were late and the doctor was already running behind there was no way for him to have the PFT that day.  After that bit of new I would have steered clear of me since I was PISTED!  That was the test to help us decide if Rhett is going to have expansion surgery again.  Now I had to wait to see when they could get him in.  Lucky for us they could get him in the next day, at 11:00am.  We had the follow up and the boys had a hearing test before we saw the doctor and they can hear better but they still have a hearing loss.  LOL!  I think the doctor expected for it to go away. :)  We didn't even leave the hospital until after 5:00pm.  But my husband was home working on my washer before I even got home!  Yeah!!  I might have a working washer!  Can't wait to see!!!  I come home to help put the washer back and it WORKS!!!!  Thank you honey!!!

Friday I had did all of my laundry the night before and then I had all the kids ready to go and left early for work.  Daddy stayed until grandpa came before he took Rhett and Nikole to school.  Then when I get to work I find out that the phones and the internet is not working.  Oh man!  It was very slow and it finally started to pick back up at almost 10:00am when the phones and the internet were working.  I let the person at my work know I had to take a long lunch to take Rhett up and get his PFT done since they couldn't do it yesterday.  They were fine with that and so I left at10:10am and called my dad who was watching Gavin and Dylan.  He was taking Gavin to school and told me to meet him at the hospital and he would bring Rhett up there since he was dropping off Gavin at the same school anyways.  So I head to the hospital and get there 2 minutes before they do.  Rhett and I hurry and check in and then wait.  LOL!!  I really hate that!  Any way we meet with the doctor for less than 10 minutes and are taken to get the PFT done.  That is what took forever!!  We didn't leave the PFT area until 12:30pm!!  We meet with the doctor right after that and I mean right after, we didn't have to wait at all.  The results are that it has improved since last time meaning July.  I asked the doctor what his professional opinion is on doing the surgeries.  Does he think that they are helping since he has gone up slightly since July?  He said that he thinks that if Rhett had not had the surgeries his lung function would have dropped a lot.  He said that it was up to us to decide if it is worth the pain that he has gone through and would be going through.  Oh joy more to think about. :)  Dropped him off again and went back to work.  He had the district science fair to go to later that day that he couldn't miss.  Ended up staying late to make sure this one guy had his car back since he was told it would be done that day.  After work ran home grabbed the kids and went to U-fit.  While there I did Pilates while the kids had fun with their volunteers playing.  What a great work out!  After that We came home and all went to bed... Well at least the kids and I went to bed. LOL!  I was tired it has been a long fun week as you can totally see.

This was my week in a nutshell.

Wow! Who would have thought...

So I am finally going to bed at a decent hour.  I know for many of you that read this have seen some of my posts and they were the middle of the night.  But since my life now has structure and rhythm I am able to go to bed before the middle of the night.  I am amazed that this has happened since I have always have been a night owl.

Today Rhett won 1st place that the school science fair and is headed to district level.  This is like what happened last time.  But last year he got 2nd place so he is even more excited than last year.  This year his goal was to earn 1st place at school level and then 1st place at district and than got to state and place.  You go Rhett!!!  I guess when you have got your mind to it than you can do anything can't you. :)

Nikole is doing better at getting up making her bed and being ready for school before I need to leave the house.  I am just amazed that she is doing so well.  Both of the kids bed rooms are clean because they were told that if the rooms were messy and bends were not made they wouldn't be able to go to the after school program.  Let us just say that my house is actually really clean from that. :)  LOL!!

Gavin was some how slightly sick today.  Not sure he woke up screaming at 3:55 am.  He was tangled in his blanket and had to go potty and was having a bad dream at the same time.  So I made sure that he went potty and found out what his bad dream was about.  He wold me that there were 3 ghosts in his closet and each time he caught on another one would come and knock him out.  OK???  Kind of weird but I am still trying to figure out what that was all about.  He has slept all day except for a few minutes.  He also told me that his head has been so so so painful.  SO I hope he is better before tomorrow.

Dylan has been loving school and is glad to be back in school,

Falling asleep s oI have to run I will up date later. :)  Night all!

day 22- What makes you different from everyone else

Me different than everyone else?

That is a good question.

Maybe it is the positive things that I see in people.  Maybe it is my outlook on life.  Maybe it is because I know I can do better and I will do better.  Maybe it is because I don't let people run my life.

I came up with some good ones but they are all maybes.  I cannot think of something that is exact and that makes me stand out as "different".

Super funny!!!

I just had to share this since it is sooooo funny!

So tonight as we were eating dinner together, we were playing a game that the deaf mentor taught us.  We were making faces and then taking our faces and putting them on other people at our table.  Since facial expressions are a very important part of signing it is something that we can do to help Dylan sign more.

So as we are sitting here doing this Daddy and I started laughing really hard over something and the next thing we hear is, "I think you guys are drinked."  What!?  Did I hear that right?  That was Gavin and he just keep repeating it which made us laugh even harder.  Than to try to top that off Nikole was trying to get Dylan to sign "daddy crazy".  Well he did sign daddy and then he signed dumb.  This was without anyone telling him what that sign was or telling him what to sign.  We couldn't help but laugh since he just kept signing over and over again dumb.  I have no idea where this boy gets it from.  I know for sure it is not me. :)

This had to been one of the best family dinners ever!

If Dylan does that again I will have to see if I can get some pictures or video of it.  It was just too funny.

I hope your evening was as fun as ours, if not than maybe next time. :)
