The week of doctors

This past week was ever so stressful.  I had the hardest time and it was almost all self inflected.  Well.... not really but possibly. I had to set up appointments for the boys (Rhett and Dylan) to see the pulmonologist (lung doctor) and Rhett also needed to follow up with the nephrologist (kidney doctor).  So I took Dylan to the doctor Monday and found out that nothing has really changed and we don't need to go back for another year unless he shows signs of problems.  That is the good news.

Tuesday morning Gavin woke up looking sick.  But he had been dealing with allergies for at least a week or more, but this was really gunky nose and puffy eyes.  I sent him to school since he refused to go to the doctor because he thought that they would give him a shot.  After school he was worse, and he told me that it hurt to breathe, so I told him that he didn't have a choice and that he was going to the doctor's to make sure it wasn't something really serious.  Took him in to the pediatrician and found out he has a possible virus.

Wednesday it was Rhett's turn to go to the pulmonologist and I dressed up really nice to try to look professional. Seeing as Rhett HATES taking his medicine and when I tell him to take them I can walk away and he doesn't take them. I really try to get him to take it, but I am also running around trying to get kids up and out the door for school without a lot of help and support.  So when I tell him to take it I mean it, but he REALLY, REALLY HATES taking medicine, and tells me that the medicine doesn't work. So I went to work for 30 minutes and then had to leave to get Rhett. After we get to the doctor's office I raced him up the stairs. Well actually he took the elevator and took the stairs.  He had his PFT and then we met with the doctor. Yes he needed to have oxygen breaks between tests because the tests were for him to breathe into the machine and measure the force, pressure, and capacity of his lungs.  He was working really hard.  It was sad to watch him suffer and know that you can't do anything to help him. He had a really hard time blowing out fast and hard more so than before. His lung capacity stayed exactly the same according to the test, but the function of his lungs has dropped again. SIGH! So the doctor did look at me and asked Rhett if he was taking his medicine. Once he found out that Rhett doesn't like to take his medicine, which makes it so he doesn't take them everyday like he is suppose to. Then it was a "curse out" session from the doctor about Rhett needed to take the medicine everyday. We grabbed lunch and went back to school and work.

Thursday Rhett's appointment with the nephrologist really early so Rhett didn't go to school until after. We get there and he has on the border of high blood pressure and after giving a urine sample and talking with the doctor they really wanted to up the dose of medicine that he is suppose to take everyday. After Rhett telling the doctor that he only takes the medicine 1 day out of 7 days she scolded me and him for him not taking his medicine everyday. She informed him that if he doesn't take the medicine everyday he is at a high risk for stroke, heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, or even eye damage. She told me that I should supervise him better and be more responsible and make him take his medicine, but also he is also almost 16 years old and should also step it up and take some responsibility for himself. She said to come back in a month after taking the medicine everyday. Nothing like getting ripped a new one for someones bad behavior and choices. after we were done we had lunch together and headed to school and work.

By the time Friday came I was so happy the week was over.  There were a few things that I had to run around and do after work but other than that it went actually smooth after all the other days that were a nightmare.  Of course this week there is more appointments that the kids have, I hope that it isn't going to be like last week.  At least this week the kids who have appointments are Nikole and Gavin.

As I have been dealing with all this stress and frustration, I was so thankful for Kim Hyun Joong. His music calms and builds me up. I have been listening to it non-stop unless I couldn't, like when I am talking to the doctor, or at work. Sometimes I can get away with it while I am talking to the doctor by leaving one ear bud in, but I think by that point I need to stay calm and his music is the only thing that does that for me right now.  Thank you Kim Hyun Joong, wish I could thank you in person.

I will have to keep you posted, on this week.

Kidnapped!

I got kidnapped and this is how it started on the 6th of March.
Yes names have been changed to protect the innocent, HAHAHA!!! It is true we are both night owls but heck I am not sure we are vampires who can go days without sleep.
I am not sure who was more surprised me, her, the kids, or the spouse. HA!  I had a short window to be ready and have everything I thought I needed as I tried to make sure everything was covered for my kids.  They were covered after a quick chat with their daddy and they were good.  I ran around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything ready before I got the last text that day.
Yep that is right I had 2 hours to pull everything together and I did it!!! My kids were so sad to see me go but heck they were fine and they had a good time with daddy.
This was the sight as we were trying to leave town.
It was a parking lot forever!
After a while we came across Vegas. and this is all I could get of that while we were trying to find a bathroom in the middle of the night and everything is closed.
Our approach of the city 15 minutes before midnight.
We stopped at a red light 10 minutes before midnight looking for a bathroom since we were laughing so hard and everything was closed. Who knew Vegas closed on a Friday night?
Yes blurry as we were headed out of town.  This was taken about 5 minutes after midnight.
We drove and laughed the whole way down and we finally arrived all in one piece and trying so hard not to be too crazy but that is really hard when you don't sleep for over a day.  We arrived at about 5:20 in the morning and we needed to find a place to use the bathroom again, and the only place we could find was a Ralph's or something like that. After we parked I took one last picture before we called it a night I mean day.
Trying too hard to keep it together makes one a little loopy.
After sleeping for about 2.5 hours we were up and at them. I went outside since the sun was shining and took a picture and sent it to my sister who was texting me as we were headed out of town to begin with. She is in New Jersey and it snowed lots, so what did I do you ask... I sent her these nice pictures of the pool.  I am the best ever!  HA HA!!
Warn and sunny. Sent it to my sister who is in the snow. Are I mean or what?
It was SO beautiful!!!

The SHED. Daa daa daa!
Yes we were going to help clean out this shed.  It was so much fun!!!  I can't remember the last time I had so much fun cleaning. HAHAHA!!!

Yep that is right it was HOT!  I loved it and wasn't ready to leave.
We got super dirty and found so many treasures and got so much done.

Money that we found!
And we have now decided that money isn't worth everything. HAHA!
We cleaned Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  Monday afternoon after we were done cleaning I took these pictures.  I forgot to get before picture which is a shame but on well now we don't need to worry about it any more because it looked like this when we left Tuesday morning!

After cleaning. Yes we didn't get a before picture.
yes those shelves were covered in stuff that we got rid of.
What do you know more space than before.
Right where that vacuum is where there were boxes and boxes of books that we went through and found lots of pictures.
No need for a little path, there is now a walkway.
Us scanning pictures we found until who knows how late we were up.  We were having a party and we were the only ones invited so too bad!  HAHAHA!!!
Now the tools are accessible.
was full of clothes and now is empty and ready for it's next adventure.
Tools organized and labeled thanks to the amazing Crystal.
You open the door and this is what you see, space!
It is all clean and organized our job was done, and heck it only took three days!!  So very proud of us!
Beautiful weather! Loved it!!
We headed back Tuesday morning and this is what we were leaving behind us.  It was great to get some much needed sun and be able to help someone in need.
On the road again.
Then we come to the middle of no where.  LOL!  Lots of ups and downs.
See nothing but blue sky.
Hey there is that sigh people take pictures of, but we didn't stop I just snapped a picture anyway.
We found the "little" green men! Ok so they were huge but completely green.
Peace out!
Yes we parked by one of these signs.  LOL!  I was not driving.
I think that if they came in this they would have never survived.
My hair really liked the green dude. HA HA!
We figured this place was infested with green "people" and we didn't buy anything here.
Told you they were everywhere!  They were even moving their heads!
They are coming to get us!!!  Eek!!!
Last shot before we hit the road again.
We made it to VEGAS, now where to park????

Saw these so much while we were there and they were noisy.

Couldn't figure out what was keeping him up.

At the place we had dinner before we left town.
Last pictures before leaving town.
Last picture after lots of laughs and having a blast all afternoon.
Tried to get a picture of the blue water thing, as we were driving out of town.
After leaving Vegas at 9 we head back home.  Yes we know we have not gotten the best sleep but I had to work the next day and take Nikole and Rhett to the orthodontist in the afternoon.  We finally arrived at my house at 5:30 am and hurry and unload my stuff which was two bags, my computer, and 3 boxes of books.  So little compared to what she would have to unload.  I helped move seats so she wouldn't have to unload her car in order to take kids to school. Then I went in and started getting kids up and getting ready for the day.  Let's just say, by the time I went to bed that night I had been up for 40 hours.  But the trip was so worth it, and would love to do it again.
