day 29- In this past month, what have you learned
Wow this is a big one.
I am not sure how to answer that one since I have learned so much and am improving myself daily to make me the best possible.
I learned that I have control over more than I thought.
I learned that my kids are smarter then I thought.
I learned that I can do anything if my mind it put to it.
I learned that the school systems suck sometimes.
I learned that my dreams are what I make them to be.
I learned that it is hard being a mom and watching you child grow up and make big decisions.
I learned that there is the good, the bad, and the ugly out in the world.
I learned that friends are the best thing that people have.
I learned that I will keep learning everyday even if I don't want to.
I learned that you have to trust some people, but make sure they are the right people.
I learned that there are things that no matter how hard I try I do not have control of them.
I learned that zumba is fun and a great outlet.
I learned that bedtime is there for a reason.
I learned that I should be more open about curtain things.
I learned that I take it one day at a time for a reason.
I learned that nothing is permanent and everything has it's time.
I have leaned so much that this is only a scratch at the top of it. I have my mind set in the direction that I am headed and I am going to do anything and everything to make sure I get where I want to be no matter what happens.

Follow up on last blog post
Ok so I had to take a picture of me after work and a day of kids and everything else. I look scary! WOW! Maybe I need to do something different, LOL! Anyway here is me now....
Sorry it isn't the best picture but heck what do you expect after a long day? I know that there are some people that can pull it off looking like they did in the morning but they don't walk in my shoes. Now let me see what was I suppose to do???

I have no idea besides shorter hair and I am busier. Ummm.. If you can think of anything for me that would be great since of course I can't think of anything else.

day 28- A picture of you from last year and now, how have you changed since then?
April 2010 that was me. YUCK! Wow I am not sure I like this picture. I sure hope I look younger than I really am. LOL!

Amazing!
So Rhett had surgery yesterday and it went well. Still recovering but doing better. But I have to tell you what happened...
We were suppose to check in at the hospital at 7:15 am. Yes I know they are slightly crazy for starting so early in the morning. Well we were trying to figure out what to do with all the other kids since heck we have more than one. LOL So my husband decided to make sure that Nikole got to school and Gavin and Dylan to the sitter. Than after he was done doing that was going to meet us at the hospital. So Rhett and I arrive at the hospital at 7:15am, WOW we made it on time!!! We check in (we meaning I). Rhett of course goes straight for the video game and figures out how to work it after begging me to help and me not helping. But there was a few other kids like there normally are. I talked to some parents while we were waiting since it is boring to just sit there in silence. When they finally called Rhett's name we walked back and got all of his info. As I am doing all of this I am still trying to get a hold of someone at Dylan's School since they had sent home all his diapers and I was thinking that he didn't have school and the buss driver said that he did have school. Well daddy decided that Dylan is just not going to school and dropped him off at the sitters and headed to the hospital. When daddy got to the hospital we were still in pre-op and Rhett had just finished getting dressed into his lovely hospital gowns.
So then the wait begins... Oh wait it never ended. :( Oh well I think that we spend most of our lives waiting. Maybe we should be used to it by now. LOL!! We head to the waiting room that is right before the OR and as we were sitting down we were trying to decide if Rhett should get the versed. He decided against it this time and than we choose our seats across from this cute little girl and her mom and a family friend. The little girl is 5 and was playing games with the friend that came with her mom. Rhett of course sat down and went straight on playing while he talked with the girl, and found out that she has 3 other siblings, and that she lives in Roy plus she had to be there at the hospital at 6:45 am. YUCK that is early! They went on playing their games and I talked with the mom and found out that her doctor had needed to bump her an hour so she had a wait ahead of her. I have had that happen with the boys so I could understand where she is coming from. As we are sitting there talking the doctor that is going to work on Rhett comes back to talk to us. The nurse was there to have me sign a paper and the anesthesiologist was also standing there waiting to talk to us too. Then after we went over everything with the doctor and the anesthesiologist Rhett was ready to walk back to the OR. This was the first time ever that he walked back and did great. Made me want to cry as I gave him a hug and told him that I would see him later as he walks through these doors that mommy is not allowed past. He just walked away and it hurt so much watching him so I had to turn and not look. We made sure that the waiting room knew that he was in the OR and then we went to breakfast. When we got back we found a couple of seats and wait some more. I saw that we were sitting behind the mom and the friend that we sat across from in the pre-op room. We hadn't waited too long before the doctor that had worked on the little girl came and talked to the mom. When she was able to go back and see her daughter I told the friend that they didn't have to wait that long. She was like you are right which is great since it was an out patient surgery. She then told us that Rhett was amazing and she really appreciated that we had sat across from them before hand. The little girl was nervous and scared and Rhett really helped her calm down to the point that she didn't need any versed. She told us that you for raising such a great boy and for having him help her. I was amazed, no one has ever said that before out of all the times that we have been at the hospital. She left soon after that and we still had to wait.
The doctor came out and told us that everything went well and that he was in recovery. So more waiting. I am a pro at the waiting game for sure. LOL! I was able to go back before he went to his room and help in in post-op. The needed to give him some pain meds and then sent him to his room. He told me that his throat really hurt and he refused to drink anything for a few hours. Which for him is weird since normally he is begging for the menu and asking for food. So we wait and then I got tired of waiting for him to ask for something to drink and eat so I bribed him. I told him that if he listened to the nurse and do what he is suppose to then he can play some games on my phone and get other privileges. It only worked for so long. I told Rhett about helping the little girl but he didn't believe me so I had daddy tell him to. But he told me and daddy that he thought it was a miracle for him to help someone like he helped that little girl. He is an angel sent to us from the Lord to teach us something.
He had grandma and grandpa visit yesterday and a phone call from Uncle Brian and Aunt Luz!! It was great! Nikole, Gavin, and Dylan all came up and visited Rhett and then went home with daddy. Gavin had a very hard night since he really doesn't like going to bed without Rhett even when Rhett is home so last night was even harder. I talked to him on the phone this morning and he told me that he had a hard night and asked when Rhett was coming home. I told him that I wasn't sure but I was hoping that he could go home today.
For now that is the latest but I will up date as soon as I can later when I have more info.

Shame on me
I am so sorry it has been forever since I last blogged. :( March was a very rough month for me. I was trying to find something and I finally found it! So now I can get back to updating everyone and let you know that I really didn't forget about you all.
Rhett has made the choice to have surgery again, so he went in for his pre-op this last month and had x-rays talked to the doctor to find out what was going to happen. The doctor is just going to expand the left side since he is really crooked from the last surgery that he had last year. We also informed the doctor that he cannot be as aggressive as he was last year. He was ok with that, I guess we will have to see if he stays true to his word. As he and Rhett talked I listened to make sure everything was covered. Rhett doesn't miss anything he got it all. So before the doctor left I asked him if there was something that he can do for Rhett's knees since he walks very knock kneed. He said that they would have to take another x-ray to see if Rhett qualifies for any help. We had the doctors at Shriner's tell me that if Rhett kept walking the way he was he would end up in a wheelchair at a much younger age than he would if his legs were straight. So Rhett had another x-ray before we left and the doctor came and showed us the pictures of Rhett's legs. He said that "this is how you qualify. You draw a straight line from the middle of the hip to the middle of the ankle. If the knees are passing in that line then they are fine." So we looked at the x-ray and saw that the right leg is fine since it passes through the line pretty well. After we then looked at the left leg and saw that almost his whole knee was on the inside of the line. So the doctor said that the left knee can be fixed but the right one is fine. In order to fix it they would have to go in and put a plate in the side of his knee and then when it is straight they take it out. Well Rhett is ok with that since he will not be missing much and what things he can do he will be able to do after wards too. So we are all getting ready for surgery around here.
Nikole is now on book 5 of Harry Potter and has been enjoying it lots. She is sure smart and is really looking forward to a new year. She has been helping more and it is great to see her enjoy being with her brothers more and help them more.
Gavin is reading!!! He read all by himself last week and again this week! I am so excited that he is enjoying it and wanting to read more. The books are not that hard but they are hard enough for him to read. He is great at sounding out and putting the sounds together. He told me yesterday that he started subtracting and that was he favorite thing to do at school that day.
Dylan is a signing genius. He is such a whiz and he it loving to talk with his hands more. It is also great for us since we understand what he is saying and what he needs.
Will update more a little later when I have a moment that I am awake to do so. LOL
