Who would have thought....

I am going to be writing about Nikole and her National American Miss experience as she goes through the entire process.

I am so proud of her.  This is something she really wants to do and I am supporting her 100%.  She has the responsibility to tell people what she is doing and ask for donations.  She has taken that to hear t and has now talked to several people and has raised at least 1/2 of what she needs!!  I am so excited since she has worked really hard to raise that money since she gets nervous and acts shy when talking to people.

I have told her that you cannot pretend to be shy and you need to speak up and look people in the eyes when you talk to them.  She has practiced and can now look people that she doesn't know in the eye and ask for donations for he to be able to compete in the state competition.  She is determined to raise the rest of the funds before the 8th of June.

She got part of her formal we will be able to get it all ready in time for the show in July.  If you want to support Nikole at the state competition the tickets are $15.  Please let me know and I can get the tickets for you and get them to you before the time.  It is July 15th and July 16th at the Salt Lake City Sheraton Hotel.  I will be collecting money for tickets for those who want to show her support and love since this is somethign that she really wants to do and is very happy and excited to do it.

Serious? Me?

Are you kidding!!
I am amazed that someone thought I should get this award. Thank you Julie!!

So here are the rules of this award
(You know you can't just get an award, you've gotta earn it, right?):

The rules for the award are  -
1. Link back the person who awarded you. Check!

2. Tell us 7 things about yourself.

Okay, here goes:

  • I love decorating!  Wither it be for birthday's, holiday's or just because.  It makes me happy to see people I know enjoy what I have pulled out of my head and created.

    • I try to make people feel like they are included no matter what.  I help my children do the same that way there are no hurt feelings.

    • I am a night owl.  I usually stay up late trying to get things done like my blog and then needing to whined down so I will be able to sleep if even if it is for a little bit.  As I stay up late I watch/listen to movies.  Mostly I listen to things that I have heard before and I usually race the thing that I am listening to.
    • I never had a nickname.  I don't even shorten my children's names to give them nicknames.
    Rhett
    Nikole
    Gavin
    Dylan

    • I think it would be amazing to live way back when there were no tv, radio and where kids played outside and used their imagination.  Where people worked hard and enjoyed family.  I have no idea why I think that I would like to live way back then, but maybe because I am feeling overloaded now.  Part of that would be loving to live in a castle. :)  I know crazy but ever since I was little I would love to live in a castle.

For example anyone of this or something like that. AWESOME! Would love to live there or any like the above.

    • I know a lot of things.  Meaning people confide in me and I just listen to them. :)  I love to talk but not about other people.

    • Writing this was really hard since I am very open about life in general that I was sure I couldn't come up with the 7 things but guess what this is number 7!!!  I guess it is time to party. :)

    Check!

    3.  Award to 15 bloggers that you feel deserve the award.

Wow!  How do I do this without offending? To top it off there are not 15 even from my side bar that are linked with me so I guess I award them all!!!!  So just so you know if you ever come here you are awarded this lovely prize. :)

    4.  Contact the recipients to let them know they've been awarded.

What to do, what to do????

Our family had some testing done yesterday for genetics and let me tell you that was so much drama.  I was exhausted by the time that we were leaving the hospital.  IF you ever want to find out what it is like to be a parent I will gladly allow you to come with me and the kids to the doctor appointments. :)

Rhett is turning 12 next month and graduating from 6th grade.  I am not sure how to pull this off since both of them are very big for him.  I guess I am going to have to have a big party for him.  LOL!!  But trust me I am not getting a bouncy house or anything like that. :)  I asked my husband to think about what we can do for Rhett and he said that he would think about it.  At least I am working on it before his birthday huh?

Besides Rhett having a little infection in his knee from him digging at the surgery site he is doing great!  He has recovered completely.  He is running around playing and everything.  The one thing that he is having a very hard time doing is kneeling down since his knee hurts because of the infection.  I guess I should take him in and have the doctor look at it and possibly clean it out.  Let's just hope that they don't need to go far and deep to get all the infection out.  I am so not happy that he has an infection again.

Nikole is so excited about her great opportunity that she has and is determined to make sure she has all the funds raised in order to participate.  Her room is almost clean too.  I know surprises do happen when you least expect them.  LOL!

Gavin last day of school is coming up faster the the rest of the school but that is just because he is in Kindergarten.  Next year will be a whole different ball game.  He is getting excited to be done with school.  He loves it but he is ready to move on to bigger and better things.

Dylan is suffering through another ear infection that came on very suddenly.  Poor kid!  With stuff coming out his ear and him waking all hours of the night is just hard on his little body.  His last day of school is the same as Gavin's.  How am I going to pull that one off and be in 2 places at once?  He loves school and cannot seem to get enough of it so I am not sure how he is going to handle the summer.  Of course all the other kids will love summer but I am not so sure about him.  He has only been going to school for 6 months so it is the one major thing that he looks forward to.

    Holy Cow!!! Exciting!!!

So I have some great news....  Well actually Nikole has some great news. :)

Nikole has been selected as a state finalist for the National American Miss Utah Pageant!!  You should have seen her smile when she was on the phone with them.  She got the great news yesterday and is now in the process of finding sponsors.  If you or anyone you know would be willing and able to help that would be great!

She is very excited and is really looking forward this great opportunity.  This is the picture that I got of her at the open call.

    Long week

It has been a long week, but I think that is because I have been in a lot of pain and really busy.  Oh well this is life.

Rhett is recovering very well and is going to school actually doing his CRT's and running around playing.  He has yet tried to run around play outside a lot after school but he has a little at school meaning PE and recess.  He is actually going to be graduating from elementary school in a MONTH!!!!  He will also be turning 12 years old too.  I really want to do something very special for him for his 12th birthday and for his graduation since they are so close together.

I am gathering ideas so if you have any great ideas I could so use them.  You can ask anyone and everyone you know to help me find some great ideas.

Nikole is also doing her CRT's and doing great in school.  Her teacher has told me several times when I have seen her.  She is great at helping Rhett with his oxygen still and does it with a smile on her face.

Gavin is not being tested right now his tests will be later this month.  Super smart little boy!  Too bad that it is going to make for a long week when he does his testing.

Not sure about Dylan's testing I have noticed that I am not getting a lot of information from the staff at his school on things that are coming up.  I hope that will change soon.
