What a weekend!

As some of you may know out here in Utah we have what is called the Days of 47'. This is on July 24th, and it is to celebrate when the pioneers came to Utah. There is a huge parade and fireworks and many activity's to do that whole day.

As our normal we went to the parade that morning at 7 am even though it doesn't start until 9 am. It gets more and more packed every year. We get there so early to save a place for my family and any friends that want to sit with us. After it was over we were leaving and the city started cleaning. I was so not happy this year with them cleaning right after the parade was over. They didn't even give people time to pack up all of there stuff and leave. They were blowing dirt and what ever else was on the sidewalks into people as they were trying their hardest to get everything picked up and leave. I will be contacting the city in the morning for sure.

We came home and had a BBQ. Kids love cooking outside while they play in the water. Thank goodness that Dylan slept the whole time we were home and then we woke him at 3 pm to get our seats at the park for the fireworks later that night. We always wit in the same spot since it is close to the bathrooms and you can see the fireworks just fine almost right above your heads. After we arrived Rhett said were are my hearing aids? I was so not happy to hear that since he is responsible for them. I took them from him when he asked me to take them inside for him so he could play in the water. I hadn't seen them since then. My husband said that they were looking for batteries and didn't find them. Let's just pray that we have the hearing aid at home and it didn't fall out of his pocket anywhere since they are about $6000 each. Yes he has one but not the other one. Anyways back to the story we save a place for family and friends that want to come and enjoy the company and the show. Come to find out the bathroom were closed this year. No idea why but they were. That meant the closest bathroom was the line of port-a-potty that were about 2 blocks away! I was so mad! I called the city to find out that they were closed and there was nothing that they were going to do. Going to be contacting them about that tomorrow too. I informed my family and my sister who also has small children refused to come and my parents couldn't come since my dad has MS and is not about to walk very far to get to the bathroom. So it was just our little family for the first time ever and man it was very lonely. :( As it was finally getting darker we were counting down until the fireworks.

Gavin and Dylan were both really really really tired and it was interesting trying to keep them awake. They were awake very quickly as soon as the show started with some big booms. It started right about 10:01 pm since I had looked at my phone right before they went off. It was ok not the best but oh well. The kids enjoyed it lots. Everything was going fine until... I saw one that was right next to the ground go off. I sat up and was watching. Everything after that happened so fast. The next thing I know there are fireworks being shot into the crowd that was about a small block south from us. There were tons it just kept going. People were screaming and running. As soon as I saw people start to run I jumped up and prayed that everyone that was not in the line of fire would not run since all my kids were laying on the ground. I was being the over protective mom that I am. As those were going off into the crowd there was one that flew over our head and tried to hit the house behind us. It was very nerve racking to think how many people were watching over there and how many were probably hurt. As soon as the fireworks stopped they kept shooting them into the sky and finished I guess as fast as they could. I don't know for sure but then the police was swarming and fire trucks were brought in. I told my husband hear that there is the ambulance, he looked up and saw a police motorcycle. And then told me after the 4th time of me saying that very thing if you are going to say there is an ambulance again you are wrong. I made him look up and pointed and said it is right there. He was like oh. LOL! Your wife is smart! By the time we had everything packed up and was ready to head out to the car there were 3 fire trucks and 4 ambulances. It was crazy the police had to stop people from walking so they could get to the injured people. I was very grateful that my kids were not hurt during this event.

We have a lot set up for this week pray that it goes off with out any problems. I will post more as soon as I can. When my camera starts working again I will post pictures.

Wow when will it stop

I finally get a chance to sit down and write. It has been a very crazy week check it out yourself. Wah ha ha ha!!! My little evil laugh that I have perfected. :)

Saturday we had a baptism that we really wanted to and needed to go to. My cousins daughter was getting baptized and it was wonderful to be there to support her. Then we had lunch with everyone that went to the baptism at a park by my cousins house. Around 3 or 4 we headed to Lagoon since it was a work Lagoon party. Holy cow! There were quite a few people and Rhett was finally 46 inches and was able to go on many rides that he hadn't been able to go on before. Nikole is is 54 inches and will probably never get to go on any more little kid rides there again. :) I can't believe they are getting so big. This is the most Rhett has ever grown in a year other then when he was really really young. I think it was because of the last surgery that he had when the doctors went a little crazy and extended him too much. We stayed there until 11 pm and went finally went home.

Sunday I actually slept all day. I have a very strong sense that it was because I got too hot at Lagoon. I took my vitamins and ibuprofen that morning to get rid of a headache but then I couldn't open my eyes and slept until 3 pm! I know at least daddy was watching the kids. thank goodness! I was bummed that I missed church but that was out of my control.

Monday first the kids helped me go through all their toy and now only have a box each of toys! So happy that I didn't have to do all that by myself. Then it was off to the doctors office to see if he would agree or disagree with the pulmonologist about Rhett being able to go to scout camp. Well he agreed with the doctor that it is way to dangerous for him. Oh well life goes on. So we are setting up many things that we are going to do as a family to have fun since he is not able to go to scout camp and have fun there.

Tuesday I took Dylan to the eye doctor and found out that he is going to have have to have another surgery this next month on his eye muscle again. Oh joys lets see what else we can do and plan for in less than a week. LOL!!! As I was sitting there for 3 hours I decide to call the Utah Parent Center and the Disability Law Center to get some questions answered about preschool for Dylan. I really would rather not send him to anywhere out here but I needed to make sure that there was a not a law stating that I had to. Seeing as he is special needs and is still behind on his developing. I guess it is a wait and see thing for this moment. Oh yes and that night I had a business meeting to top everything else off.

Wednesday was Gavin's 5th Birthday so that morning between 2 am and 5:30 am I decorated so that he would know that it was his birthday since for a while now he has been saying is it my birthday. When I got up at 8:30 am I told him happy birthday and he ran to me and gave me a huge hug and said mom thanks for decorating. :D This is why I am up all night decorating for birthdays it is the one thing that they love every year. LOL! Cheap present huh? Rhett had a Orthodontist appointment at 10 am and we got there on time for the first time ever! Then after that we had to meet daddy and ended up having lunch with him and racing to the store so that Gavin could pick out his cake and Ice Cream. He picked party cake with Cherry icing and Neapolitan Ice cream. I know YUCK! But that is what he wanted so that is fine by me. :) Raced home since Beana (Christina) was going to be meeting us at 1 pm. Holy cow got home 5 minutes before 1 and then was told that she was running late so that was ok I had a minute to breathe. When she got here I was exhausted and the kids were running around like crazy playing. She asked Gavin if he wanted to go get some ice cream like in a cone and he said that he already has ice cream. OK! So then it was like Gavin do you want to go to the park and play and his response was no I think I want to stay here and have fun. LOL!! What kid says that? Cracked me up!! He had a party at 6 with our families and he had a blast and LOVED his cake! Too bad my camera battery is DEAD I will have to get the pictures off of my husbands phone and then post them when I have a chance.

Thursday was at least a calm day not running in my car all day busy but busy none the less. We met with Beana again and had a great time trying to get our kids to listen and follow directions and not fight as much as they do normally. As soon as she left the kids were great all day and I was able to work on my business in a quiet house. I got lots done and I was so happy for that since there was so much that I needed to do and hey I was able to get it all done. :) That night after daddy came home we decided to go to the dive in and watch a movie. The kids love that and I don't have to hold a screaming baby at the back of the theater. LOL! We saw Last Airbender and Eclipse! So excited!! Loved every moment since the kids were all great and fell asleep before Eclipse even started..... Well at least all the kids but Rhett. :)

Friday was on of the roughest days I have had this week. I cleaned my room well my side of it and helped Nikole clean her room and organize Dylan's things and helped that boys clean their closet and then made LINER since it was 4 pm when we ate and all that was done while My husband slept on the couch(no he is not sick). After that cleaned out my car went on some errands, loaded up the car for the parade and than did dishes and finished the laundry that the kids didn't get to during the day. HOLY COW!! I did all this and now I am still up and have to get up and going by 6 am so we can get a great spot for the parade. :)

Ok now that sleep is starting to catch me I better run for now. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

I told you so

Have you ever heard those words "I told you so." I think everyone of us breathing people have heard that before. It is words that I remember hearing when I was growing up. Well I get to say it now, "I told you so."

Rhett had his doctor appointment with the pulmonologist today and it went just as I thought it would have gone. The doctor asked why were were there and I told them it was a followup and I needed a Pulmonary Function Test(PFT) to see if there has been any changes from the time that they did surgery on him in April. Making sure he was doing ok and to get his input on sending Rhett to scout camp. Wow there was a lot riding on this doctor and his profession huh? well everything came out to be just as I thought it would.

(I thought that the doctor would do the test and tell me nothing had changed. Tell me that he would say no to scout camp. Also inform me that moving would be a good idea.)

This is how it all played out.... After we saw the doctor first he was like ok let's do some tests first and then decide what and where to go from there. so the person that does the PFT's came and got us to take us to the testing room. Ok normal yeah! Well we were there testing for 30+ minutes they also were able to get lung volume totals for the first time ever! They have never been able to get those before because of Rhett's attitude. Then after we were finally done testing we went back to the room and waited for the doctor to come in and give us the results. As we were there waiting the lady who did the testing came in and wanted to double check his height since that makes a difference on the test. she took him and found out the same thing that they had on his sheet already. As soon as Rhett came back in the room the doctor came in and wanted to go over his results. OK... Well he said we are going to start here and showed me on the paper then said this is how hard he can blow out and this is the percent of normal he is at. Normal meaning 100%. Well he was at 38 blowing and he was 34% (or was it 43%) of normal. It is one of those two numbers but I can't remember which one right now. As we look back through his chart and compare this test to others he took in the past nothing had changed. He was hanging out around the same area on both of those numbers for years! OK... the next one was this is how fast he can blow and this is the percent of normal he is. Again normal being 100%. He was at 35 strength and 40% of normal. Again we look through and compared these with the ones that he had in the past. And again he has been hanging out in the same area for years! NOTHING HAS CHANGED!! Not to happy about that but grateful that my mommy instincts are very knowledgeable. Ok so these surgeries have helped make him a little taller but the lungs have not changed.

After all that I asked him in his professional opinion of allowing Rhett to go to scout camp. He looked at me like I had lost my mind since seeing these test results and knowing that the scouts are going to be going in the high Unitas for a week. He shook his head and said that it would be too much of a risk to send him. Since it would be 5000 more feet above sea level then we already are. HE said that he strongly recommends that we do not send him just because there is too much that could go wrong and he is already breathing 100% oxygen and if he comes off of it for even 10 minutes he has a hint of blue around his mouth. GREAT! Both Rhett and his daddy were so looking forward to being able to go. Now I have my husband home for a week with nothing to do! CRAP! Oh well.

As we were wrapping up our meeting with the doctor he again said that if you can move closer to sea level that would be best for both the boys. Told him that I had been thinking about that and he asked where. I said Philly and he was so happy. Said that they have the best pulmonary department in the nation. So there we have it. What a day! And there is more but I will have to post that later.

What a whirlwind!

Things have been so crazy busy here that I sometimes feel like I am going to burst.

Summer school is almost over... WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??? Please dear Lord help me cope with kids fighting and trying t get things done that need to be done.

Rhett is doing well as long as he has his oxygen no matter what. I asked him today when he came home if his oxygen was out and he said no. What? He should have used all the tanks that he took with him. So than I asked him why and he proceeded to tell me that someone turned his oxygen down. WHAT!!??!! He should be on 1 1/2 to 2 liters all the time. So I said to him well why didn't you fix it? He looked at me like what are you talking about. GRRRRRR! I said Rhett you know where are suppose to be and you know how to change it so it is where you are suppose to be so why didn't you change it? He looked at me like because mom I really don't care. Even though after I changed it to where it should be he started breathing easier. Not happy with that attitude!!!! I told him that it had better get lost and never return since it is not welcome. I understand attitude is part of growing up but if it is going to kill him in the process then it is not welcome.

Nikole did great today and I was able to help her go through her room and clean it out mostly on Sunday. Today she looked at me as I am trying to cope with being up till 3-4am every night for almost 4 days straight and said mom you didn't help me in my room. Well little missy you are the one who put on your swimming suit and decided to go in the back yard and play and then talk to me about your room at 8:25pm. I don't think so! bed time for you is 7:30 pm for the reason I need to keep my sanity. Thank you very much. As soon as I told them that it was bed time and they needed to go get in bed they all said ok and slowly made they way to their rooms. Nikole was asleep in less then 5 minutes. I guess she was tired. And she wanted to clean her room. HA HA HA!!!

Gavin had a issues today. He played while the other kids were at school and when he came in I told him he needed to change out of his swimming suit and he wasn't allowed to play in the water again today. Well before daddy came home I check on my kids that were playing so nicely in the backyard and there is Gavin drenched from head to toe he was playing in the pool even though I told him that he couldn't. Pants, shirt, and underwear were all soaked! He was dripping wet and tere was nothing that I could do. Guess who will not be playing tomorrow? Yep that is right him! Maybe when he starts to listen he will get his privileges back.

Dylan was super cute today! He put himself down for a nap when I told him to and when I told him that it was bed time he went in had a drink and climbed in bed and laid down and went to sleep. He has been playing really hard I guess. But he has been happy almost all day. There was a time that he did get sad but then it passed in less than 5 minutes and he was fine. :) It is amazing to see his emotions change directions so quickly.

Just cause I asked

Ok so I asked still confused. I have to brainstorm by myself and when I asked for an example I was MOCKED! I couldn't believe it! It was heart breaking to have that happen to me. I know that I have never been strong with words so that is why I ask for help so that way I get the help I need in order to get what I am talking or asking about across to the person on the other side of the words. Why are there people out there that don't even know me and have never met me treat me like that? I feel that there are more and more clueless people out there. My calendar is getting more and more packed since I am trying to get so much done in so little time. It is going to be so crazy! I feel like I am being pulled into a million pieces and there is no way of putting me together for at least 9 months to a year. I have my eye on the goal and target and I am going to hit it and defy all the odds against me and surprise all them people that think other wise.

Rhett is going in next week to the doctors. I am nervous...

We are going to find out if the 'pulmonary function test'(PFT) come out the same as January. If that is the case which is more likely then not then we will talk about other options that are open to us.

I hate having to prove to the doctors that the mother knows her child better than they think. I know if something isn't right! Why can't they just take that at face value?

I know him better than any doctor out there!

It is surprise, you wouldn't think that by these photos that his lungs haven't grown in 3 years. I know I just love these great photos! Thank you Hope Kids for taking pictures when I was out there playing with Rhett. These are great shots of him. He is a very handsome little boy who is getting older every day.

Nikole has been very helpful with all the boys. I am so proud of her! She is in summer school with Rhett since she begged to be there. But when I drop them off I ask her to help him and she doesn't whine or throw a fit, she grabs his backpack that is full of oxygen and walks with him and even holds the door for him. they talk about things that they are going to do that day. It is like me talking to my siblings and heck we are a LOT older than Rhett and Nikole. As I sit here typing this I am crying thinking of what a wonderful little girl I was blessed with. Yes she does have he moments but she is will to help her brothers when I ask her to with out whining about it. Even if it mostly Rhett and Dylan. I don't remember me being anything like that when I was 8! I think I was like if it isn't going to help me why should I help them. But I could be totally wrong too since it was a long time ago. :)

There is a bond there that will always be there. She is such a wonderful spirit!

I know that was taken a while ago but she was still a helper then too.

Last is one of my most favorite pictures of her. Just the joy expressed on her face says it all!

I love you Nikole!

Gavin is having a hard time being out of school. He is trying to control Dylan and of course Dylan is not liking that idea any. So we have some brawls in the morning when they are marking their territory. Thankfully they are not peeing everywhere! But they have some great moments together too. Just yesterday they were crawling on the floor around the stool where I was sitting. I asked "what are you doing?" came the reply we are playing chase. Ok never heard of that but they were both laughing and running and playing nice. It was wonderful!!! I wasn't able to catch that moment on 'film' but I will always remember that. Often times I ask Gavin to help me to get Dylan to do something. Since Dylan loves Gavin so of course he does what ever his brother does. I do have a wonderful picture of them playing together when Dylan was younger.

Now of course these are older pictures but still they have as much fun as they did back then.

Gavin has always loved his little brother!

They are good friends most of the time. To bad I have no picture of them fighting. HE HE HE That would be a funny thing if I had happen to have one.

Dylan is a wild thing! Love that song it makes me dance. :) He loves doing anything and everything that his siblings do no matter the cost. LOL! He thinks he is a big boy even though he only comes up to my knees. He is a climber, jumper, and thinker. He loves doing what ever he wants when ever he wants. It is amazing to see him think through problems, figure them out and actually find a way around them. He is one smart cookie! I think he is too smart for his own good. Maybe he has learned everything he knows from his siblings. Or maybe he was born that way.

Playing peek-a-boo at the birthday bash! Thank you Hope Kids!

Smart turkey that is able to spin the ball!! :)

Seriously!

Ok so why do some people feel like they have the right to tread on others?

As you can tell I am a little frustrated and am here wondering how the heck I am suppose to get all the bottled emotions out before I explode.....

I have got it I will just write it all down and that should work. I will have to let you know later if it does. LOL It all started (I don't even know when) a long time ago. :) Ok that isn't how I want to start this.

Let me think...

Why is it that when some people have this great dream that they are going to achieve they are in circled by those others that (not on purpose) like to bring them down and make them feel worthless or like what that dream is just that a dream? They like making others feel lesser than them. SERIOUSLY GROW UP! People that have dreams are the people behind the driving force of this nation. All them dreamers out there raise your hand... (hand raised) YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

To the dreamers out there all you have to do it stick to it and keep you mind on your dream. See it believe it and it will come to you with some work and determination. NEVER GIVE UP!!!

For all those dream killers GO AWAY!!!! Nobody like a negative person. Either learn to think positive or just leave the dreamers alone.

I know what I am and I am proud to say that I am a dreamer and glad because I have something to look forward to. :) I have HUGE dreams and I plan on making all my dreams come true NO MATTER WHAT! So those of you out there wanting to stand in my way you better watch out because you will miss me as I fly by making my dream reality.

Ok you know what I do feel better! It is amazing that just getting that out there can help so much. LOL I guess I will have vent again if this kind of stuff keep happening.

Grateful

We had a celebration here to say in our way thank you men and women for everything that you do and have done for our family. Making it possible to be here at this time and place with my family and knowing that you are putting your life on the line for my family's freedom.

We launched fireworks and had family over for 2 days! It was fun but I am glad that it is over since it can get very nosiey and I was worried about the kids burning themselves with the fireworks. My kids are not very little anymore. :( So of course they think that they can do what ever they want and what ever mommy or daddy does. Rhett got burned on his foot, Dylan almost got burned on his hand, and if I remember right Gavin and Nikole came away unscathed. Glad that we were not all hurt!

Now that I think about it July is a month that I love and not love at the same time. It gets really hot and the sun burns you but then you have the 4th and 24th of July, you get to eat ice cream and Popsicles often just trying to stay cool. With all the thoughts in my head it is hard for me to come up with such a fine list of things but I think I did ok for starters. :)

July just seems to sneak up on my almost every year. I feel so unprepared for this month but there is no way I can stop it from coming. LOL Like I could stop time. That just cracks me up just thinking of it. I like to plan and prepare for things so seeing as fast and unexpected that July came in I am so going to be ready for August! Even though my schedule is feeling up quickly with things that need to be done and things that I want done. EVERYTHING is going to get done to the point that I will not have to worry about it because I am planning on it all falling in the right place with some work.

I had an amazing thing happen this month. I had a business partner put makeup on me from our makeup line in our company and I DIDN'T BREAK OUT!!! Oh my goodness! This was the first time EVER. I have had all sorts of makeup put on my by my friends. Between everything out there from Cover Girl to Mary Kay and I broke out so bad I hardly ever would want anything on my face. But Now I have found something that will NOT make me break out. I am really excited to share this with EVERYONE!!! No strings attached, promise!

I will have to post pictures later when I can get to my camera. LOL!

Already

It is already July and I am wondering what happened to June. July means more bad air days which means my electric bill is going to go up. It also means that summer school is almost over, and that school will start soon. Oh well I guess it could be worse it could be December. :) LOL!! There is still so much that I need to do and I am working on it. I feel bad because there is stuff going on in my head that I can't get out right now I have to sort it all out and after we have decided what is going to happen and such then I put it out there to keep everyone informed. This is going to be the best month yet because I say so and I am going to make it that way no matter what!

I hope everyone is safe this weekend! Have a wonderful 4th of July weekend!!!!
